Arizona Vehicle Bill of Sale Instructions
The ADOT provides the form for the protection and convenience of the buyer and the seller. You are not required to submit it to the Arizona authorities after the sale or during the registration process. The seller informs the ADOT about the vehicle transfer by filing a Sold Notice within ten days after disposal.
Though you do not file the Arizona Vehicle Bill of Sale during the transfer process, both standard and customized forms are important legally binding documents. You have to be very attentive when building your form and filling it out. Any legitimate Vehicle Bill of Sale in Arizona must contain the transaction details the buyer will use when it comes to registration.
Check the following requirements to ensure your bill of sale is a valid document that can be produced in court if needed:

- Prepare two original copies of the document. One should be given to the buyer, the other remains with the seller.
