How Do I Get Form DD 2384?
The law demands every member of the Selected Reservists (SELRES) be issued this form when they complete all the requirements for participation in the Montgomery GI Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) Educational Assistance program.
A copy of the completed NOBE is provided to eligible members so that they can apply for benefits.
DD Form 2384-1 Instructions
The applicant has to make sure they meet the eligibility criteria for the MGIB-SR program, before obtaining the NOBE DD Form 2384. The eligibility will be coded into the Department of Defense (DoD) personnel system by their unit so that the Veterans Service Administration can verify the provided information.
The program chosen by the applicant must be approved for VA training. In case there are any incompatibilities the VA can inform the applicant, school, or company of the requirements. They should also obtain and complete VA Form 22-1990, Application for Educational Benefits, and then submit it to the VA regional office with jurisdiction over the state where the applicant is going to receive their training.
If the applicant has already started their training, they should turn their application and NOBE into their employer or educational facility. They will also need to complete VA Form 22-1999, VA Enrollment Certification, and send all forms to the nearest VA office.
