Soccer Player Profile: What Is It?

A Soccer Player Profile is a general overview of a soccer player, often created by a soccer coach. The purpose of the profile is for a coach to clearly see the advantages and disadvantages of each player which will come in extremely handy when the coach is planning the line-up and considering tactics before a soccer match.

The best time to fill in each profile is at the very beginning of a new season. The level of detail can vary from coach to coach; some coaches opt to have a short and generic profile whilst others prefer a more detailed profile. Below you can find a list of some of the things that may be found on a soccer player profile but keep in mind that this is not an extensive list:

• All soccer player profiles will detail some basic personal information about the player including their full name, date of birth, contact details, address, and an emergency contact;
• This is usually followed by a list of the physical characteristics and capabilities of each player along with information about their height and weight;
• Information about the health status of the player is also included which will also detail any known illnesses and injuries;
• The personal characteristics of each player may be included to understand the mentality and psychological abilities of the players;
• Any preferences a player may have in relation to positions.
