Washington Postnuptial Agreement: What Is It?

In Washington, a Washington Postnuptial Agreement is a legal agreement intended for spouses that are in a legal marriage. The agreement legally is considered a contract and the main purpose of it is to delegate a property appropriately, as agreed by both parties providing that a specific life event occurs.

The events that trigger this are usually when a spouse wants to file for a divorce or passes away. If any of these events do happen, the case will be forwarded to the correct court. A court case will commence where a judge will need to decide whether or not to implement the conditions of the agreement.
