Self-proving Affidavit Form - Missouri

A Missouri Self-Proving Affidavit Form is generally used to increase the speed of the probate process in court when a court wants to assess the genuineness of a will. With this document in place, the will is automatically confirmed as genuine because it requires two witnesses to validate the fact that the person signing the will has signed it completely freely, without any pressure whilst they were in the right frame of mind.

As the Missouri Self-Proving Affidavit requires witnesses, this means that the witnesses do not need to show up in court to confirm authenticity. The person drafting the will must also sign and all three of these individuals must do so before a notary public which in turn, would notarize the document. If the document is signed incorrectly, it will not be a valid document and will not be legally enforced. To make sure you avoid any issues with the form, we would suggest downloading a ready-made template.
