Minnesota based individuals may benefit from a Minnesota Self-Proving Affidavit Form if they have created a will and want to speed up the court proceedings. By filling in and signing a Minnesota Self-Proving Affidavit, the form acts to confirm the authenticity of the will as well as providing confirmation that the will was signed completely voluntarily.
Once the individual passes away and the will makes its way to court, thanks to this document the judge will see that the will is genuine. The judge will also not call any witnesses to stand in court (which is usually the case) because two witnesses are needed to sign the form. By doing so, this rules out the need for witnesses to be physically present. In addition to these signatures, the individual forming the will and a notary public must also add their signatures. Failing to do so will result in the document not being recognized.
