Self-proving Affidavit Form - Colorado

Using a Colorado Self-Proving Affidavit Form is not compulsory, but it is still beneficial to do so. The main aim of the form is to confirm the validity of a will formed by an individual. The main advantage of this is that it will speed up the probate process which happens in court and is usually a very long process. This happens because witnesses no longer need to turn up at the court physically – the signatures they add to the Colorado Self-Proving Affidavit will suffice.

In accordance with the laws set in Colorado which tightly regulate the use of this document, the form should be signed by both the individual creating the will and by two witnesses. This must all be done before a notary public and if any individuals fail to stick to the regulation concerning signing, the document will not hold any legal weight.
