A California Non-Compete Agreement will not forbid an employee from working in the same (or similar) area once they part ways with their employer. In some cases, the company acting as the employer can sign the agreement in regards to specific company secrets, preventing the employee from disclosing these to other parties by using a California Non-Compete Agreement Template. However, generally this will be extremely challenging to prove for obvious reasons.
There are other agreements that can be signed which will forbid the employee from sharing information regarding the customer base, or specific secrets relating to the business. If such information will be distributed to other parties, it can have a catastrophic effect on a business that has worked so hard to develop their base of customers and come up with original secrets. Such agreements do not even have a time expiration which means that upon signing, the information can be kept a secret forever.
