A Texas Independent Contractor Agreement is a document that is signed between two entities, a customer and a contractor. The customer can either be an individual or may approach a contractor on behalf of a business. The agreement will detail information that each entity has agreed to and the conditions of the job will be outlined in full, including clauses on deadline dates and payment.
The document is used to differentiate an independent contractor from an employee. Employees are entitled to receive additional social benefits that are in agreement with the law. On the other hand, an independent contractor takes all of the responsibility onto themselves meaning that the customer would not be liable for any supporting payments (the only exception to this is if the two entities make an agreement between themselves). The agreement also details the working relationship that was formed between the two entities.
