School Cleaning Checklist: What Is It?
A School Cleaning Checklist is a document used mainly by cleaning staff to ensure that they clean all of the appropriate places within a school. It acts as a tool to remind cleaners of where they need to clean and this list is usually quite detailed to avoid any ambiguity. This is particularly important in schools as schools often see hundreds of students and staff pass through the school every day. In turn, this means that viral and bacterial infections can spread fairly quickly. In order to avoid this, schools must be cleaned thoroughly and correctly.
Another advantage of using a School Cleaning Checklist is that it acts as an effective method to control the work of the cleaners. Next to each separate cleaning duty, there is usually space to sign off the date, time, and name of the individual that completed a specific duty. This will help keep track of what jobs have been carried out and when.
Generally, the checklist will include all classrooms, corridors, cafeterias, toilets, and staff rooms. These areas are all considered essential in cleaning and should be thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. Under each separate room, there is a detailed description of what jobs need to be carried out in that specific room.
