A Missouri Notary Acknowledgment Form is a legal acknowledgment completed by a notary public in which they confirm that the signatures within a document are real and that all signatures were obtained in a legal manner, i.e. nobody was forced to sign anything away against their own will. The document in question does not have to be signed before the notary public; this can be done before the appointment. It is however, still highly suggested. The notary would need to check the identification of the parties signing the document and would also require a declaration from these individuals to confirm that they signed the document willingly.
The Missouri Notary Acknowledgment is then signed by the notary public, providing the outlined criteria above have been met. This acknowledgment will then be added onto the appropriate document as an attachment and from this point onwards, the document is said to be legally binding.
