In Mississippi, a Mississippi Property Management Agreement is a legal agreement that is composed when an owner of a property selects a party to manage their property (or properties) on their behalf. The manager is responsible for hunting for tenants which includes advertising the property, arranging viewings and signing contracts with them. After tenants are secured, the manager must collect rent on a monthly basis and manage all financial questions as well as questions that tenants may have. Apart from questions concerning rent, the manager is also in charge of keeping the property in good condition and contracting out workers for repairs.
As a general rule, those working in this position in Mississippi must hold a valid real estate license. There are exceptions to this concerning individuals who are employed directly by the owner of the property and of course, the owner of the property themselves.
