Real Estate Power of Attorney Template - Tennessee

A Tennessee Real Estate Power of Attorney is a legally binding document used by one person to appoint another (alternatively, it is possible to choose an entity like a property management firm instead) to let the latter handle the selling, purchasing, or leasing of real property in the principal's name.

The law does not limit principals who are free to prepare this form in different circumstances - if you are in the hospital and cannot be present at the closing of the house sale or if you simply prefer to trust a legal professional to oversee the transaction, you may fill out an authorization for the agent.

As long as the power of attorney identifies the parties, explains what the agent has to do for the principal, and outlines the rules to follow when one of the parties wants to terminate the arrangement, the authorization will be considered enforceable - there is no legal requirement to notarize the form in the state.
