Limited Power of Attorney Template - Maine

A Maine Limited Power of Attorney Form authorizes a principal to share their authority with another individual, referred to as an agent. The agent is legally given permission to undertake certain functions on behalf of the principal. The document only allows for specific tasks to be carried out usually for a limited amount of time. For example, a principal is planning on a vacation, but has some errands that need to be sorted during their period of vacation. By designating an agent, they allow someone else to carry out the agreed functions.

In order for this document to be accepted and legally recognized, the signing of the document needs to happen in the presence of a notary public who in turn, will provide their own signature and seal to verify the agreement.
