When you have made a serious mistake or acted inappropriately on the job, writing a Letter of Apology to Your Boss can help repair the damage. This letter will show you are mature enough to understand that your actions or behavior led to a negative outcome and that you wish to show remorse. It also shows you wish to correct the action and take ownership over the situation so that you can continue on in your position without a stain on your record.
An Apology Letter to Boss for Misbehavior can also help avoid more serious action being taken by your HR department. Of course, any letter you send will also need to be followed up with a sincere change in behavior to avoid repeating the same negative actions.

Dear Ms. Pattmore,
I am writing to you today to express my sincere apologies for the way I behaved at the Governor's Dinner last Friday evening. I know that I spoke out of turn to several of my coworkers and hurt not only their feelings, but yours as my supervisor.
I have thought deeply about why I behaved the way I did and I acknowledge that I should have asked others more politely for help in preparing for the event, rather than allow my stress to overwhelm me and shout at my coworkers. This reflects poorly not just on me, but also on the event staff, since Governor Grantham's family was upstairs preparing for the event and could have heard.
To rectify my poor behavior I have talked with Mrs. Hughes about techniques I could employ to manage my stress when preparing for large events. She has given me tips on deep breathing, asking others for help before waiting until the last minute, and an online tutorial about how to work with people in a group setting. I know in the past I am used to taking charge and being a leader instead of a follower, but as our team has grown, I realize I need to learn how to work as part of a team and not a solo act.
I plan to also apologize to the rest of the team about my behavior and assure them that I have every intention of acting in a more courteous and supportive manner in the future. I will especially apologize to Daisy since I know I made her cry. I understand that actions speak louder than words, and I intend to show you that I will not behave this way again in the future.
With deepest apologies,
Ivy Carson
