Such complaints are commonly filed in instances when an employee believes they have experienced discrimination in the workplace or they have faced harassment (any type of) by colleagues. This of course is not strictly limited to issues with colleagues, it may well be that an employee faces harassment from a customer.

If such unpleasant incidents do occur, it is important to speak to the manager right away as they may have the authority or experience to resolve the incident for example, by introducing a new company rule or providing extra training. Unfortunately, some issues cannot be resolved on the management level and need to be taken further. In this instance, you should fill in an Employee Complaint Form and outline the incident in great detail. This document should then be passed on to the relevant person who has the power to resolve an incident fairly after weighing up all the facts.
