A Connecticut Gift Deed is required to document a person donating or gifting property or real estate to another person or party, where it is expressly written that no payment will be required during the transfer. To complete a gift deed, a full legal description of the property must be made, in addition to a record of the chain of title and any outstanding restrictions of the property. At the time of signing the deed, two witnesses must also be present, including a notary (47-5(a)(4)). To submit a gift deed, provide all additional documentation and send them to the town clerk's office where the property is located.
