Gift Deed Form - Iowa

An Iowa Gift Deed is written when a person is donating or gifting property or real estate to another individual or party and no payment is expected in return. It is important to make sure that all language in the document is clear to avoid later being contested in court. The gift deed must clearly dictate a complete legal description of the property, chain of title, and any restrictions connected to the property. All documentation will need to be sent to the county clerk's office in the county where the property is located and all gift deeds are exempt from including a Declaration of Value (Iowa Code 428A.2(21)).
