Fill out a Vermont Deed of Trust if you wish to make sure the loan you gave to a borrower to purchase real estate will be returned to you on the terms stated in the deed. The Vermont Statutes declare that a deed will not have an effect unless it is acknowledged and recorded (27 V.S.A. § 342). Your deed of trust shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of the town where the property that is designated in the deed is located.
