A West Virginia Grant Deed is a legal document that transfers title to real property from one party to another. The West Virginia Statutes contains a form of the deed which can be found in section 36-3-5. As specified by the code, a grant deed shall include the name of the grantor, the name of the grantee, the description of the property which is subject to the deed, the amount of the consideration paid, and other details (36-3-5). Every grant deed shall be null and void unless it is duly recorded in the county where the property in question is located (40-1-9).
