A Rhode Island Grant Deed is a document that can be used to transfer the possession of lands, tenements, and hereditaments, which must be executed in writing and signed by the grantor (34-11-1). A Grant Deed in Rhode Island shall be acknowledged before any state senator, state representative, judge, or another appointed individual listed in section 34-12-2 of the Rhode Island General Laws. As stated by the Laws, a deed shall be recorded in the records of land evidence in the town or city where the lands, tenements, or hereditaments are situated (34-11-1).
