A New Hampshire Grant Deed is supposed to be used to shift ownership of real property in New Hampshire from a grantor to a grantee. According to the New Hampshire Revised Statutes, a grant deed shall be signed by the grantor (or by the grantor's attorney), acknowledged, and recorded (477:1). A New Hampshire Grant Deed shall be recorded in the registry of deeds of the county where the real estate is located (477:3-a). If a grantor is transferring a title of ownership to two or more grantees it shall create an estate in common, unless otherwise stated in the document (477:18).
