An Iowa Grant Deed can be used to document the transfer of ownership of real property from one individual or entity to another. In situations when the grantor is transferring real property to two or more grantees each in their own right creates a tenancy in common, unless otherwise stated in the grant deed (557-15). The Iowa Statutes also require all grant deeds to be compliant with Chapter 9b that contains requirements for all deeds executed in the state of Iowa.
