A Hawaii Grant Deed transfers property from one person or entity to another. According to the Hawaii Revised Statutes, all grant deeds must be acknowledged and then recorded in the bureau of conveyances. If not, the grant deed is void against any subsequent purchaser, lessee, or mortgagee (in good faith and for valuable consideration)(502-83). The grant deed acknowledgment shall be provided in accordance with sections 502-41, 502-42, 502-45 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.
