A Georgia Grant Deed is a legal document that transfers the title of real property from one party to another. Unlike in other states, the Official Code of Georgia does not contain a special form for a grant deed. If the grant deed is sufficient in clearly stating the transaction between the involved parties, it won't be invalidated if the format is Incorrect (44-5-33). Before the deed may be recorded in Georgia, it shall be attested or acknowledged in accordance with the law (44-2-14). A list of officers that are authorized to attest documents is presented in section 44-2-15 of the Official Code of Georgia.
