How to Write a Credit Card Authorization Letter?
Follow these steps to compose an Authorization Letter to use a credit card:
- Greet the recipient of the letter if the authorization is needed for a specific transaction only. Otherwise, simply add "To whom it may concern" to cover all the bases.
- Confirm your intention to give the other person or entity permission to use your credit card. You may limit this use to one financial operation or list the occasions the card can be applied to. If you need to deal with a bank, you may grant the temporary cardholder permission to request your bank records.
- Name the person or company that is allowed to have access to your credit card.
- Describe your credit card to show the limitations of the permission - the authorized party may only use one card if you have several cards.
- Indicate the duration of the authorization.
- State your contact details in case the third party wants to verify certain information by reaching out to you directly.
- Sign the document. It is up to you whether you would like to have the Letter of Credit Card Authorization notarized - normally, it works without a notary seal, but it may add extra weight to your statement, especially if the financial transaction is handled by the other individual or organization is large.
