What Is an Academic Appeal Letter?
An Academic Appeal Letter is a written statement prepared by the student and sent to the educational institution to challenge the fairness of their decision. Whether you were dismissed from the university for bad grades, received a warning for misconduct, or failed one or several classes, you can argue the ruling if you think you have a chance to change the opinion of the institution's committee or particular employee who adopted the decision. In your letter, you can share your opinion on the situation, explain why you think the decision was unjust or wrong, or admit the correctness of the decision but ask for another chance to prove your worth to the college or university.

How to Write an Academic Appeal Letter?
Typically, an Academic Appeal Letter format includes an introductory part, the main section where you present your point of view about the matter in question, and a short conclusion. Follow these steps to compose a successful Academic Appeal Letter:
- Greet the recipient of the letter and introduce yourself. State the reason for writing and refer to the decision you want to appeal;
