How to Write a Vehicle Gift Letter?

To create a gift letter for a vehicle, you will want to include the following information:

1. The top of the page should include your organization's letterhead with an address and contact information.
2. In bold, the title of the page should read, "Affidavit of Gift of Motor Vehicle" or "Vehicle Gift Letter."
3. Mailing information for your state's Motor Vehicles Division that handles the transfer of ownership of vehicles.
4. A statement that the undersigned (full name of donor), living at (address, including city and state) is agreeing to transfer the ownership of their vehicle to (name of your organization and address). This transfer of ownership is a donation to your organization and the donor acknowledges that they will not be receiving a financial payment in exchange for the vehicle.
5. Include the date the vehicle will be picked up, as well as the make, model, year, and vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle that will be donated.
6. To comply with any state or local laws, be sure to mention that if it is found that any law was violated during the transfer of ownership, you hold the full right to invoke any penalties pertaining to those laws.
7. Final signature section for the donor and person from your organization receiving the vehicle and additional date section. Include a statement that both signatories agree to sign under penalty of perjury.
