Do You Need a Bill of Sale in Maryland?
The laws of the state do not require you to fill out a Maryland Generic Bill of Sale when selling or buying any minor property. At the same time, you are strongly advised to do it in order to document the transfer of costly items. Having a properly completed document, you will feel protected against any fraudulent claims connected with the deal. It serves as written proof of ownership and as a purchase receipt. Does a Bill of Sale Have to Be Notarized in Maryland?
No, the State of Maryland does not require a notary public's certification on a Generic Bill of Sale, but many parties of buyers and sellers often prefer to have it, as it adds extra protection to the deal.
