Do You Need a Bill of Sale to Transfer Title in Georgia?
A Bill of Sale is of particular importance with regard to expensive items, for example, real estate. This document should contain the following information:
- Personal details of the parties. Write down the names, addresses, and driver's license numbers of the seller and the buyer;
- Property description. List the characteristics of the item being sold, including its serial number;
- Purchase price. Provide information about the amount of money paid, the date, the location, and the method of payment;
- Seller's disclosure. This clause is optional and can be included in the property description. Basically, the owner of the property has to inform the buyer of any defects and faults that already exist. Otherwise, the property is purchased "as is" - without any special conditions or guarantees;
- Signatures. This section can only be completed in the presence of a notary public.
