What Is an Arizona Generic Bill of Sale?

​An Arizona Generic Bill of Sale is a document you complete in order to transfer the ownership of any property from one party to another. Does Arizona Require a Bill of Sale?

Arizona laws do not require that you fill out a Bill of Sale when transferring any property other than watercraft. The state does not offer any legally issued forms except for Form 48-2004, Vehicle Bill of Sale and Form 678, Watercraft Bill of Sale. Arizona Bill of Sale Requirements

If you are creating your personal form, make sure to include the following information:

  1. The names and addresses of the seller and buyer;
  2. A paragraph that explains if the buyer takes the described property "as is", or if the seller provides a warranty. This information is important in Arizona;
  3. The information about the transferred property that helps to identify it. For example, if you sell a laptop, describe its model, manufacturer, size, and serial number;
  4. The amount paid for the item. Provide the item value both in words and in numbers;
  5. The date the bill of sale becomes effective.
