The Delaware Boat Bill of Sale is a document filled out during watercraft transfer. It is equally important for both the seller and the buyer. Its main purpose is to serve as proof of payment and boat transfer. The new owner must submit this document to the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife to obtain a registration card.

Though it is a required document, the state does not provide any government-issued Delaware bill of sale forms. If you sell a boat in Delaware, you must notify the Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife within 15 days after your vessel was sold. If you sell a used boat, you must provide the buyer with two main documents:
If you sell a new boat, give the manufacturer's original certificate of origin. Remember that all documents you provide must contain the boat hull identification number.
The buyer will need these documents to apply for the vessel registration card required for all motorboats used in Delaware waters. A notarized form will not be required only if you and the buyer appear for boat registration in person and with picture IDs.
