What Is Form G-325A?
Form G-325A, Biographic Information (For Deferred Action) , is a legal document used to collect basic biographic information of certain categories of individuals (prospective U.S. citizens or immigrants) who file an application or petition to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This one-page form will help the USCIS to determine the purpose of the petition or application and decide whether to approve it or not.
Alternate Names:
- Biographic Information Form;
- USCIS Form G-325A.
The latest version of the form was issued on March 29, 2018 , with all previous editions obsolete. You can download a fillable G-325A PDF through the link below.
Form G-325A is often confused with Form G-325, Biographic Information , an identical questionnaire that also contained biographic information to supplement various USCIS forms. There was a difference between G-325 and G-325A - the former was used to collect information from U.S. citizens who filed petitions for immigration benefits on behalf of their foreign relatives, while the latter required biographic details directly from the foreign national petitioners. Unlike Form G-325A, Form G-325 was discontinued and is incorporated into USCIS forms that used to require this separate document.
Who Needs to File G-325A Form?
Since 2018, the Biographic Information Form is only used to file deferred action requests for these categories of individuals:
- Alien family members (spouses, children, and parents) of active duty military or military reserve;
- Alien family members of those who previously served on active duty or in the reserve, living and deceased, who were not dishonorably discharged;
- Enlistees in the U.S. Department of Defence (DoD) Delayed Entry Program - certain aliens can enlist in the military if their skills are required for positions with a critical shortage of qualified applicants. This program is available to people fluent in foreign languages and health care skills.
These policies support the DoD and assist military members, veterans, and their family members when they navigate the immigration system and facilitate the DoD recruitment process by employing foreign nationals whose skills are vital and critical to the national interest and military services.
