- Information about the dealer . In the first part of the form, dealers must designate their license number, sales tax license number, and contact information including full address and telephone number. They must also enter if the vehicle sold as new, used or a demo, its vehicle identification number (VIN), etc.;
- Information about the vehicle . Here filers must fill in several sections, which include vehicle registration to transfer a license plate, vehicle history, and title brand disclosure, odometer mileage disclosure, etc.;
- Owners, lessors, and lessees' information . In this part of the document, applicants must designate the full names and addresses of all the owners, lessors, and lessees. A filer must also enter the year, make and body type of the vehicle, information about the vehicle's insurance, etc.;
- Financial information . Here an applicant must fill in the gaps, such as trade-in sales tax credit, sales tax, plate fee, total delivered price, unpaid balance to be financed, etc.;
- Signatures . The document must be signed by the dealer, purchaser, and co-purchaser, lessor, lessee, and co-lessee, depending on the purpose of filing the application.
According to the official RD-108 instructions, the form must only be typed. Any handwritten forms will not be accepted in any capacity. The Secretary of State offices are supposed to process the application within 48 hours after the receipt. To check the status of registration, dealers can use the official website of the Michigan Department of State. To access the information there, a dealer must designate a purchaser's name, date of birth, Michigan driver license number, or Michigan personal ID number.
