How to Fill in Form AN?
Follow these steps to complete the Naturalisation Application Form:
- Start with your personal details. Enter reference numbers you have already used, the passport number, and the date you were allowed to remain in the country or enter it.
- Choose your title. State your full name, other names you may have previously used, and your birth name. Indicate your current nationality, insurance number, place and date of birth, gender, and marital status.
- List your contact information - current address, telephone numbers, email address. Record your former residential addresses as well. In case a solicitor represents your interests, the form must contain their name and contact information. Select the preferable location for the future citizenship ceremony.
- Check the appropriate box to demonstrate how you are going to verify your language skills and sufficient knowledge of British life.
- Provide personal information of your parents and present partner If you were married before, list the details of your former marriage as well.
- Describe your current employment - state your occupation and work status, employer's name and address, and tax reference number. Share your employment history for the past ten years.
- Write down the date and place of your first arrival in the UK. List all your absences from the UK during the last five years.
- Check the box if you are a European Economic Area or Swiss Natural or a relative of a person with this status and record the details of your residence card.
- If you have ever been convicted of a criminal offense or were a subject of a civil judgment, provide the details of the offense. Indicate the nature of the warning or caution you have received if applicable.
- If you apply for naturalisation because of your or your partner's Crown service, describe the service in question and confirm the length of service.
- Find two people who can verify your identity - they must provide their personal details and certify they know you and your photo represents you.
- Record your biometric residence permit details and describe where your fingerprints were taken.
- Certify the information in the document is complete and correct, sign and date the form. Alternatively, it can be signed by your representative who provides their contact details.
- Use the last three pages of the form as a checklist to find out which documents you must send alongside the application.
Where to Send Form AN?
Form AN mailing address differs depending on your current residence:
- Submit the form to the Lieutenant Governor if you live on the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
- File the application with the Governor if you reside in a British Overseas Territory.
- Send the documentation to Department 1, UK Visas and Immigration, the Capitol Building, New Hall Place, Liverpool, L3 9PP, if you live somewhere else.
