The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) is responsible for coordinating and managing emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and homeland security efforts in the state of New Mexico. Their main purpose is to ensure the safety and security of the residents and infrastructure during emergencies and disasters, including natural disasters, terrorist threats, and other emergencies that may impact the state. DHSEM works with various agencies, organizations, and community partners to mitigate risks, develop emergency plans, and provide resources and support during times of crisis.
