• Cats that are overweight surpass those that are at a healthy weight, and this is a severe problem . The ribs of such cats can still be felt, however, it will take some pressure and the fat will be felt by the fingers;
• Cats with obesity are more prone to developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and renal diseases, all of which reduce their lifespan . The added weight will strain the joints and make movement difficult.
