A Child BMI Chart is used to categorize the weight of a child aged from 2 to 17 years old, although in some cases the ages of a Child BMI Chart can differ, starting from as late as 5 years old and going all the way up to 20 years old. Once a child reaches adulthood, they should refer to an Adult BMI Chart to determine their BMI which will reflect their health more accurately.

As kids become older, both the BMI and overall body fat percentage alter. Because of this, the gender and age of a youngster or adolescent should be taken into consideration when calculating their BMI as it can have significant effects on the overall BMI value.
